Great News for Your Mental Health: GST Now Exempt on Psychotherapy Services!

At Kayda Health, we are committed to providing you with the best therapeutic experience possible. We have some exciting news to share that will enhance your experience as a client and make psychotherapy services more accessible!


What's Changed?

As of December 20, 2024, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has officially confirmed that psychotherapy services provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) and Canadian Certified Counsellors in British Columbia are now exempt from the Goods and Services Tax (GST). This significant announcement means that effective immediately, you will no longer be charged GST on psychotherapy services at Kayda Health.


What Does This Mean for Your Psychotherapy Services?

For our valued clients who have been paying GST on therapy services, we understand that this change may come as a relief. You can expect reduced overall costs moving forward, making therapy more affordable and accessible. We want to ensure that you feel supported throughout your therapeutic journey without additional financial burden.


If you're a new client considering counseling services, this exemption simplifies the cost structure. You will find that our fees are now more straightforward, without the added GST, allowing you to focus on what truly matters—your mental health and well-being.


Moving Forward

  1. For Current Clients: No GST will be charged for any psychotherapy with a an RCC or CCC scheduled Dec 20, 2024 and onward. GST collected before this announcement will be remitted to the CRA; there will be no refunds for any GST already collected. Our billing practices have been updated.

  2. For New Clients: Our pricing is now GST-exempt, making it easier for you to budget for your therapy sessions. Costs vary based on the clinician and session type, and range from $140 - $285 - you can visit each team member's profile here to see clarify prices. We encourage you to reach out to us for any questions about our rates and the services we offer - email connect@kaydahealth.ca and we will do our best to respond within 48 business hours.
